We are an intimate chef’s counter restaurant on San Juan Island committed to providing an elevated, seasonal, delicious dining experience featuring extraordinary ingredients grown throughout the Pacific Northwest.   • We invite you to join us Friday & Saturday evenings for dinner to enjoy our Seasonal Tasting Menu.

    Champagne Brunch is available on Saturday & Sunday mornings, and Sunday Sauce, our three-course ode to growing up in an Italian family on the east coast, is available on Sunday evenings.

    All of our services are reservation-only, and bookings are available through Tock.

  • Each month we create a menu inspired by seasonal ingredients gathered from farmers, foragers, and the sea. Our tasting menu features five primary and four secondary courses, and our tea menu consists of three courses and their accompaniments.

  • Reservations are released at 12:00pm (noon), on the 1st of each month for the following month: August 1st for all of September, September 1st for all of October, October 1st for all of November, etc.

    Reservations for 1-4 guests are bookable in our dining room, and parties of 2 will be seated at a shared table. Please contact us should you wish to make a reservation for a larger party.

    All reservations are booked and pre-paid through our Tock page.

  • Please allow ample time to enjoy the experience you have booked and keep in mind that the dining experience starts promptly at your reservation time. Guests joining us for dinner are requested to arrive between 5:45 and 6:00 to be seated and enjoy a welcome bite alongside our bread service.

    While we recognize that unforeseen events occur, the nature of our dining experience means that late arrivals will not be able to enjoy courses that have already been served,

  • We include a service charge as a part of our Tasting Menu booking. This charge is applied toward the restaurant’s costs in an effort to ensure the highest possible quality of service and allows us to compensate our team members.

    While additional gratuity is not expected and is entirely optional for our Tasting Menu, all additions are pooled and equitably split among our dining room and culinary teams.

  • If you would like to cancel, change, or reschedule your reservation, please do so at least 48 hours prior to your booked date and we will be able to accommodate the request with credit for a future visit or a full refund.

    Reservations at Walden become final, non-refundable, and cannot be modified, rescheduled, or canceled within 48 hours of the reservation.

  • Our team is always happy to open special bottles from your cellar.

    Our corkage policy is $45 per 750mL bottle (standard size), up to two bottles. magnums are $90 per bottle, limit one. We kindly ask that your selection is not already represented on our wine list.

    Should you wish to inquire about a particular selection we invite you to contact our sommelier.

  • Due to the length of the dining experience and the tranquil ambiance of our dining room, young guests are welcome to join us provided that they participate in the full tasting menu and enjoy the good company of their guests.
